Reserving quality and service
Sedona hotel owners appreciate the superior relationship with National Bank of Arizona
By Debra Gelbart
The Best Western Plus Arroyo Roble Hotel & Creekside Villas in Sedona is an award-winning enterprise that has become an Arizona landmark. Guests have been enjoying the gorgeous environs and superior service since the Evans family — husband and wife Bob and Pat and their sons Phil and Steve — built the business in 1982. Their decision to build a hotel and timeshare sprang from a longtime love of Oak Creek and Sedona enriched by years of family vacations there.
Christy Evans, Phil’s daughter, is the director of business development. Her family, she said, has been banking with National Bank of Arizona for almost a decade.
How has National Bank of Arizona helped your company?
As our business has grown, we’ve had to evolve along with the needs of our guests. Over the years, breakfast became an important part of the guest experience, but we didn’t have the space to accommodate our guests for breakfast. In 2004, with the assistance of NB|AZ, we secured a small business loan and constructed a new building that has space for serving breakfast, along with meeting facilities and retail shops. We’re grateful for the help of NB|AZ, and our guests really appreciate the amenities located in that newer building.
What do you value most about your partnership with National Bank of Arizona?
NB|AZ has really created a relationship with us — that’s what we value most. Everyone we come into contact with does what they say they’re going to do. Most importantly, our relationship manager, Kate Van Driel, has been a huge asset to us. She continually goes above and beyond. Whatever we need, National Bank of Arizona is there for us. NB|AZ handles our small business loan, payroll and account management.
What sets National Bank of Arizona apart from other banks?
NB|AZ is much more relationship-focused. You have a person to call directly. We really appreciate the personal service they’ve given us.
What do you especially appreciate about NB|AZ?
The outreach to clients. That is, by far, what we, as a client, find beneficial.
